    When I take the time to evaluate my online activity (and believe me, that's no small task - - they don't call me Topsy-TECHIE for nuttin'!!) I'm kind of flabbergasted by how much of it involves homeschoolers and homeschooling. Between Facebook, forums, email groups, and blogs, probably 75% of my web surfing involves home education in one way or another. This kind of fascinates me because I definitely am an eclectic person with a plethora of interests and hobbies, yet a LOT my time is spent reaching out and connecting with other homeschoolers. While plenty of people are quick to share their concerns about the socialization of homeschooled students, they don't often include the homeschooling parent in that equation. But in my experience, it is often the parent who is most in need of a listening ear and a bit of encouraging advice. They need to find others who have either traveled the same road, or at least others who are in the midst of the same journey. ...
