Grading

How do you figure grades? Do you separate into 4 quarters like PS does then average each quarters grade to give a final grade? How do you do it????

I use ENGRADE, a free online gradebook, we have gp 1 and gp 2.
Sample Grades:
90% A
80% B
70% C
60% D
0%
i Just enter the T4L scores to the engrade and it will automatically calculate the grade or percent per subject every grading period.

That sounds like a great idea. We don't have to report to anyone so I don't worry about grades. As long as he does well on the work I don't care about calculating a final grade. The only thing we use grades for is to print out a report card to take to Chuck E Cheese for free tokens.

Here in Ky we dont have to report to anyone too, but i want to make sure, just in case my daughter want to try to go to what she calls 'normal' school one day, i have documentations to show them.

That's a good point. That is one reason why I print out the reports at the end of each course. I have a notebook that has all of these reports in them. My health isn't the greatest. If my husband would ever have to put him in school I want him to have the records.

I hadn't heard of engrade - I'm going to look into it - thanks!! I've just been making a spreadsheet this entire time. I enter in all of the extra stuff that we do, and then attach them to the T4L printouts. I print them out weekly, then average grades monthly, then yearly.

i used to have the skedtrack, but engrade is way better.
its a little confusing when i first started to use it, but i didnt stop until i finally get it, now everything is easy peasy.
skedtrack is more confusing and so much advertising, i mean every page of it, in and out. i didnt even last a gp1 @ skedtrack.

Thanks for letting us know about this program. I'll look into it for my son. I like to have records that are clear in case my husband would ever have to put him in school.
