Safe penpal?

I have a 2nd grader who I am homeschooling with the T4L and a few supplements. We saw an idea on one of the T4L parent forums about getting a penpal. Does anyone know of a good safe place online to find a penpal? She would prefer an international penpal. Thanks for any help.

There was a yahoo group that had penpals for children. There is also a postcard exchange group on yahoo groups. You go go to yahoo groups and do a search for the penpal group. We did the postcard exchange for a year or so. We finally quit when we had postcards from every state and several foreign countries. I know there was a thread at one point on Mothering.com for penpals as well. Good luck in your search.
