I marked that my son teaches himself using an online curriculum. I do sit with him to keep him focused on his work. I am there to answer any questions that he has. I help explain the topic if he doesn't understand it. I am also the one who arranges all the social outings and field trips. So I probably should have marked Mom as well.

I answered that mom (me) is primary teacher but I really like Kathi's answer better. I supervise and keep my daughter focused, as well as add additional instruction if necessary. I am also the "social secretary"! Like Kathi I arrange outings, fieldtrips, co-op classes, chauffeur. Since homeschooling is a way of life it is hard to separate mom from teacher, from homeschool coordinator!

Same here. The kids use Time4Learning and the buck stops with me, so if they need help with something or whatever - that falls to me.

"If the schools were perfect, I would still homeschool my children - because it isn't about school. It's about families taking back their children and educating them as they see best. School is only a substitute for the real thing."

For some reason the poll says it is closed but for the most part I am the teacher although with my daughter she is doing it more and more independently.

DD uses T4L high school courses, so she is an independent learner for the most part.

At our house it is definitely mom... Homeschooling five kiddos with one in college... Dad likes to play with them while mom has to be the tough guy!
