Holiday Schooling

It's official! The holidays are HERE! We have our tree up, Christmas music is out, recipes cards are being dusted off! I'm humming, "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas"! I cherish and love the sights, the sounds, the smells, the relationships!

So where does homeschooling fit in? Over the years we have tried many different holiday schedules. we have schooled through the summer and taken off from Thanksgiving through New Years. We have tried just taking a couple of weeks off. We have even tried schooling through except on the major holidays.

However, when we found Time4Learning in "2007" that all changed. My children enjoy getting on their computers and working on their lessons. I don't feel stressed because there is no grading, record keeping or planning. We login, follow the arrow and complete our our fun-filled assignments. No more catching up in January. The one thing we do differently is let go of social studies and science. Instead we pursue service projects, reaching out, doing for others. I cherish these memories and will carry them with me forever.

What does your holiday school schedule look like?

We've all had a blast with our workboxes and a REALLY time-intensive home-designed curriculum . . . but, during the holidays, it's been online lessons only. Whew! I can definitely use the break!

We typically do a regular school schedule... BUT if there is something holdayish that we need to do - we just do it!!
