    Default Alabama House Bill 6

Here is another Bill to watch.

This bill, "Alabama House Bill 6", would lower the compulsory age of attendance from 7 to 6 years of age.

This bill has apparently gone to the Senate.

So betwen House bill 6 and house bill 371, this is something to watch. In fact, HSLDA is opposing this bill and as of April 27, is requesting that members contact their senators to let them know that this bill should not be passed.

I can't really call you to action, or ask you to support this if you don't feel so inclined, but if passed, it would mean that mandatory education would begin for every child at 6,regardless of their readiness for formal eduction. Check it out and see what you think.
