    Default Borders

Summer is a great time to inspire a love of reading in kids. Borders Double Dog Dare Challenge was designed to support children’s literacy by rewarding kids for reading. Last year, Borders gave away 270,000 free books as part of the Double Dog Dare. We received tons of positive feedback from teachers, parents, and, of course, kids! This summer we’re repeating our hugely popular Double Dog Dare. We made changes based on feedback from our booksellers and our customers to improve the program for 2011.

    • In May, kids ages 12 and under may pick up a Double Dog Dare form at their local Borders, Borders Express, or Waldenbooks or download it at Borders.com.
    • Kids read 10 books of their choice, any books they want, even library books.
    • Kids fill in the titles they’ve read on the form and have their parent/guardian sign it.
    • Once they bring their completed and signed form to the store, kids may pick out a free book from an approved list of 20 titles, listed below.
    • The forms will be available for one month (May) before customers can redeem them for a free book starting on June 1, 2011. This will give kids time to pick up the form and read the 10 books.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the store at 856-866-9090. Thanks again!

I'll check around tomorrow and see if I can find any near you. You might be able to go to Borders online and sign up for the reading program.

If you go here, you can put in your town and find the nearest store to you. I know a lot of stores have closed but not all of them.
