This is my impression as the parent of students using this course. High school Algebra I is intended to get students ready for High School Algebra II. They complement each other.

Honors Algebra, for middle schoolers, begins really easy, with some tutorials. There is also quite a bit of review of some basic things, like exponents. I would consider Honors Algebra to be "pre-algebra". I have used it as high school algebra for some of my kids (before the high school courses were available). A couple of them were ready for Algebra II after that, and a couple needed more practice. So, I think it depends on how well the student is able to apply what they have learned to another course.

Mom of six . . . current students and homeschool graduates. Enjoying using Time4Learning since 2006!
