    Default Spelling?

Hi everyone. I'd like to use Time4Learning exclusively for Language Arts, however, it seems as though it's missing something. My son is on various levels so I have him doing 2nd and 3rd grade. Before starting Time4Learning I was having him do spelling in our Spelling Workout book, but had planned on switching to Spelling Power. When I look at the Time4Learning, as far as I can tell, they don't do any spelling. Am I missing something?

    Thanks in advance!

A formal spelling program is offered under the language arts extensions icon beginning in fourth grade. There are a few animated spelling activities in the third grade language arts extensions.

Many programs prefer to wait until a student is reading independently before beginning spelling instruction. Time4Learning focuses on phonics and reading until third grade. Students with a thorough understanding of phonics are often good spellers.

Here is a good site for extra practice of spelling words.

Mom of six . . . current students and homeschool graduates. Enjoying using Time4Learning since 2006!

This is excellent to know, Kelly! I, too, was concerned about the spelling program. Right now we're working slowly through a program called, "Apples spelling Drills" but I wasn't sure what T4L had to offer for spelling!
