    Default Where to begin?

I just pulled my 1st and 2nd grader out of public school at Christmas break, and will be using T4L as our core curriculum (and will be supplementing as needed). I really have no idea where to start my kids in the program. Do I start them from the beginning? If I do that, will they finish by the end of May?

Don't think of it as being completely linear. Sure, start at the beginning and then skip anything they already know or do it anyway for review and confidence building.

Some people do start at the beginning but they only do the chapter tests. As you go through the tests you will see areas that your child needs to work on. You can do the lessons for these areas. On areas where your children already know the material just have them do the chapter test and then move on. Remember you can also go to the year ahead or the year below where they are currently working. Sometimes this happens that they need more stimulation or they need to catch up on something they missed.

Thanks for your tips. I will try out the chapter tests and see where we should begin. We've been working from the beginning and they've griped about knowing some of the material... We are still figuring it all out!

You'll catch your groove soon, Then you'll wonder why you thought this was so hard.
