Default NICHE Homeschool Day at the Capitol

March 16, 2010 will be the 3rd Annual NICHE Homeschool Day at the Capitol. There will be a free morning session, including a rally with Michael Farris, at the capitol from 9am until noon. Then there will be an afternoon session in the Wallace Building from 1 - 4 with workshops and presentations by Steve Deace, Michael Farris, and Iowa legislators and gubernatorial candidates. The afternoon session costs $10 per family.

Post here if you're going and/or have or want more information.

Default what's going on in morning?

What is the plan for the morning from 9-12? Where are we all suppose to meet at and or register? Do we have a venue to eat for lunch or we bring our own? Thanks, Robin

Hi 8ofus4god, thanks for posting! From 9 - 11:30 am there is a session about talking with legislators at the Capitol Rotunda East Wing. There is no mention of anything before this time, so it looks like that's the place to start. Following the "calling out" of the legislators, there is a rally on the west steps of the Capitol. In the afternoon (beginning at 1 pm) there are more free activities at the capitol building, or you may go to the activities at the Wallace Building Auditorium for which there is a $10/family charge. Neither the itinerary nor the website mentions the provision of lunch or any specific lunch location, so it seems safe to assume you are on your own for that. The itinerary mentions a NICHE registration table, but not the location, so they must think it will be easy to find.

I hope you have a great time and come back and tell us all about it!

Here's an article about the event. Hopefully we'll get some post-event information too!
