    Default Feild trips

We are new to homeschooling and we have a question about field trips. Are they limited to our state? in Feb we are taking our son to Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton OH. He is going to meet and greet one of the engineers who helped design the B-1B bomber. His ambition is to be an aeronautical engineer, so we were wondering if this could be considered a recognized field trip.

Kentucky requires you to teach reading, writing, spelling, grammar, history, mathematics, science, and civics, but they do not dictate the content of those subjects or get involved in what curriculum you use or what field trips you decide on at all.

It is quite common for homeschooling parents to count the educational part of any family vacation as a field trip. There is nothing limiting your homeschool field trips to your state of residence.

Mom of six . . . current students and homeschool graduates. Enjoying using Time4Learning since 2006!
