    I asked my local school principal if I could obtain a copy of my child's grade curriculum. It is public information (I later found it online too) and she just emailed me the curriculum. In NE it is written like "By the end of (grade) child will know......" It's helped with monitoring my kids progress. It's a bit of extra work on your part, but isn't that what we are on this anyway?     Fairylover I do the same with the 1/4, 1/2 and so on. It helps us understand where we are. Even though there are chapters some have more than others.

    yes my kids ask how much they have accomplished so far so its easy to just look at the number and say well you've completed 1/2 the grade already!
