Default Want to get it right

My daughter is starting kindergarten this fall. I understand that I do not have to register her until she is 7. I will be going the private homeschool route. I understand that I have to send in the appropriate paperwork. Do I still need to register her w/ our local school board? Thanks!

    Welcome, Ginger.
I apologize for taking so long to get back to you, a family emergency kept me from the forums for a while.
It is my understanding that it is easier to start homeschooling if you never put your child in the system. If you send in your private homeschool paperwork, then you shouldn't have to register her with the local school board. However, to be on the safe side, you should check out HSLDA's website, or check with your local school board.
Homeschooling one for 8 years and counting!
