    Default Question on summer :)

I hope this isnt a stupid question. ...In Maine we have to do 175 days of schooling...does that have to be between the public schooling days like sept. to june..or can it be in parts during summer also? Thank you Kelli

Maine law says that " A statement of assurance that indicates the home instruction program will provide at least 175 days annually of instruction". I would take that to mean 175 days during the year. Please remember that I am not a lawyer. This is only my interpretation of the law. Remember also to include days that you are going on field trips or even park days, (counts as physical education doesn't it.) I think as long as your child is learning and progressing it's up to you how you get there. At least that's my opinion.

Good luck on this wonderful, magical journey.

We school year round so I would need to count days in the summer. My son refuses to do any school work when Daddy is home so whenever he is off work is a day off school.
