Default Is homeschooling right for ADHD kid who hates socializing?

My 8yo has ADHD and is in a GT/LD program right now. He is doing great academically, but has so many behavioral outbursts in class that itís disruptive and distressing for the other kids. When he is happy he jumps up and down, when he is sad he bursts in to tears, when he is angry he breaks things and hits. His homework is easy for him but his class work is hard because he is so easily perturbed. He hates working in groups and being forced to socialize but that is part of the curriculum. He would much rather do schoolwork alone or on a computer. How much should I force him to do something he hates? Is homeschooling right for him? Thank you

There are a lot of ADHD students who are homeschooled -- it can help them because you can separate the academic work from the social work, and let them put all their energy into one or the other, not both at the same time. Check out one of Arundel Homeschoolers support meetings if you want to talk to someone some more about this idea.
