I decided to homeschool...now what?
I just decided to homeschool my 8 year old daughter, I just spent hours online learning what I could. I learned a lot but I still have this unsure feeling as to what is the literal first step? Do I just call her school and declare she's not returning? Also I wanted to know what kind of record keeping is required when you homeschool? Thanks so much, I'm sure I have a million more questions but don't want to be a pest
lol.

Homeschooling First Steps
I have read quite a number of posts but no one seems to be answering any questions. I have looked at the HSLDA website, confusing to say the least. Can someone from Boston list in clear steps what a homeschooling parent needs to do once they decide to homeschool? Do I send a letter to someone? To whom? Where? Please give us some step by step instructions. Thank you!!

It's hard to get folks to chime in on the state forums sometimes. I wish I could help, but I'm not in MA. :/
Have you contacted your local school board to ask them exactly what they expect of you?Katie
