    Default Extension Required Reading

I have two questions about the LA Extension Reading List. In Grade 3, are the children reading these books or are the parents reading to the child, or a bit of both? Does anyone read the whole list of complete books? Thanks Melissa

In third grade, it's assumed that the student will do his or her own reading. You are free to read to your student, if that is how he or she will learn best.

Most of the books on the list are optional. These are to be considered as suggestions. There are a handful of activities in third grade extensions that require a book. If the book isn't available, they can be skipped with no harm. I try to do at least one of the book-based activities.

In the core language arts program, all required reading is included in the online lessons.

Mom of six . . . current students and homeschool graduates. Enjoying using Time4Learning since 2006!
