hello from missouri
Hello I am Sonya from Missouri, I Pulled my grandson from public school about 2 weeks ago,due to him and the teacher just plain not getting along everyday she would send him to ISS for something silly ,like opening the door to wide or not shuting the door tightly as it should have been. One day he came home
because she told him he was going to fail because his family didn't care about him. needless to say I blew up. When I went to the school I was told "she was just trying to frighten him into doing his work" Sorry but not my child.
My grandson has had a rough past and been through alot for a7 year old. He has to deal with living with NENE instead of Mom , he has 2 brothers one lives in SC and he dont see him much at all and the other past away from SIDS in Aug.2007 at the age of 9weeks. I also have a 23 month old grandson that I am raising also. Ok enough about me ..I hope everyone is having a blessed day and look forward to speaking to you all while my grandson loves T4L and is doing real good.

Hello from another Missourian!
Sounds like you have your hands full, but also that you made a good decision for your grandson. My son is older, but we also had a major problem with the nasty attitude of his last public school teacher.

hello witchly
Hello there
Where abouts in Missouri are you located? We are interested in finding families close by that we could get together and have cook-outs and just give the kids a chance to meet other children that are homeschooled.

Welcome Sonya!
Isn't it funny how so many of us just happened into homeschooling "by accident." T4L has a great articleabout that if you get a chance to check it out. Kudos to you for doing all you are to make your grandson's educational experience a positive one. It takes a lot of guts to pull a child from school and try a whole new way of schooling. Hope you will find lots of support here on the boards.
Glad you are here!!
