Default How Much Time on the Playground/How to Fit Everyone in

How long do you allow your dc to play on the playground once done with their lessons?

We only have one computer and I plan to have three dc use T4L LA's. I also have a ds using Alpha-Phonics and another ds use Phonics Tutor. That's five dc using the computer during the day.

This blog entry includes a link to the type of schedule I use. You can find the time of day and look across the page to see exactly what each family member is supposed to be doing at any point in time. This makes it easy to see if you've accidentally scheduled two kids on the computer at once or have them taking showers together.

    taking showers together rofl

something that we're considering is getting one of those cheap dell netbooks for jack for christmas. we had a rough week last week with the computer but since then he's showing that he can be a little more responsible. they're like $200, but you can find them for as little as $125. while they don't offer all teh same features as a normal computer, it would at least allow him to complete his assignments on here w/o taking over mine.

My kids all have netbooks that I paid under $300 for. I added a wireless mouse ($19). They're great! It's very easy for them to do their online lessons anywhere in the house or yard.

I thought the small screen might be an issue, but you forget about the size when you are working on it.

Thanks, ladies. Kelly, I enjoyed your homeschooling site. We have only one bathroom too. We have all done the potty dance many times.

Maybe sometime next year we can get another computer.
