Default Math "practice" in 5th and 6th grade

The last chapter in 5th and 6th grade math is entitled practice. How has everyone used this section? Do you cross reference the activities with the appropriate activity in the other chapters?

One more question, are these practice activities added into the total number of activities in the lesson plans?

The practice section is the Old curriculum. Instead of getting rid of it they put it in its own chapter. It is not included in the total # of activities. We have used it when my son was having a hard time with a section I found the corresponding section under Practice.

Fourth, fifth, and sixth grade math lessons were recently updated. Instead of discarding the old curriculum, all the lesson activities were moved to a unit called "Practice". They are useful if your student needs extra practice on something, or for review near the end of the school year. The last time I looked, they were included in the total number of activities, even though they aren't actually part of the curriculum. That might have been changed. I'll go look.

Kelly...did you ever fine out if the "practice" is part of the total lessons for 5th grade?
    Thanks

I counted the activities and if you added in the practice section it would be over 400 and it only says like 240 ( I don't remember the real numbers right now so I just picked two numbers far apart from each other)

    Thanks Amber...
I'm going to count up the actual number of lessons. Maybe I'll give ds a break and not make him do all the "practice" ones
