    Default Notebooks/Portfolios? Lapbooking? Anyone?

Hi! I have been reading over the forums and keep seeing people mention the notebook or portfolio, would you care to share how you set these up? Do you have extra papers? journal entries? Just the printables from T4L? or.....?

This will be our first full year of T4L exclusively, and I love doing notebooking and lapbooking and things like that....I want to have something at the end of the year to look at all that we have learned. Also...I keep seeing people write about having quizes and tests in there as well, I thought those were all online? How do you print them off? Or do you just include the reports? Sorry to bombard you..hope you can help!
    Thanks a bunch!

    Hi, Vicki! Welcome!

We are heavy duty lapbookers at our house.

When you access your student's portfolio, you will see that the test scores appear as a link. You can click on those links and print the completed test. The core language arts and some of the newer math lessons incorporate the tests into the lesson activities instead of providing a separate "test" icon, so those won't be printable. You will know if a test or quiz is printable by whether the score is a link or not.

Do you use the topics on T4L to lapbook? For instance, my son will be doing 3rd grade and one of the topics will be Vikings..would you take time out to lapbook about Vikings? Or do you just do lapbooks of whatever?

Thanks for the info about the tests!!

My kids do Time4Learning in the morning. In the afternoon, we do mom-created unit studies and we lapbook as part of that. Right now, we are studying about China. I get loads of printables for lapbooks from http://www.homeschoolshare.com . It beats having to make ALL of them myself.

I am very intrigued by lapbooks but have never taken the jump here. I would love to hear more of what other families do!

    Hi,

My name is Nancy and I am new also. I am new to Homeschooling and T4L. I would like to do some notebooking and lapbooking, but I am overwhelmed at the moment. I also have a daycare, and have taken my children out of PS, so I am in the adjustment period. Would like to hear more about how others are doing things.

I'm not sure what lapbooking is, could you explain it to me. I'm interested in anything that will make homeschooling a little easier.
