    Default Phonics Books

    Hello All

    I was wondering, I have a five year old that is really wanting to learn to read(NOW)!!! Does anyone have any suggestions on some activities we can do?

    Starfall.com is a really good, free site that my son loved to use when we first started.

    Also, Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons is great book for those just starting out. It is very basic, but gave my son immediate gratification. It only took about 15 minutes a day and was very easy for me to teach because it was completely scripted.

    We have also used BOB Books and Pathways Readers which are also great supplements.

    My 5 year old boy really likes the Explode the Code. I just let him go at his own pace. They have lots of repetition too. He does T4L K and really likes it too.
