    Default Thread for questions/updates on technical difficulties.

    NOTE FROM KELLY:

    In the interest of efficiency, I am consolidating all of the threads regarding the recent technical difficulties under this one thread. I will also post updates here, as available (in bold, so you can find them easily).

    The site maintenance on Saturday was intended to make things speedier. As often happens with any task, additional issues were created which need to be addressed. The developers have called in specialists, who have indicated that things won't be back to normal until "at least tomorrow".

    A similar thing happened when my husband attempted a "simple" plumbing project in our spare bathroom last week. (We ended up calling a plumber . . . )

    Thank you for your patience and for understanding that everything possible is being done. Remember that you CAN access worksheets from the parent login, so that might be an option to get a little work done. The Playground should be functioning normally.

    Good Monday morning to all! Is anyone else having a problem with website being soooooo slow this morning? I know the site was down for maintenance on Saturday; is this a residual effect from that maintenance?

    I am not even able to access any pages.. just the log in and then the main page.. anyone know what is going on before I call??

    Yes, we have noticed too, I can't even get on now. Last week we had a problem with tests and quizzes going really slow. I have 3 boys using time4learning. we have been using it for about a month now. Although we really love it, it seems like too often things are not working correctly. This really messess up our day when this happens since all 3 boys are using the same computer.

    Default Doing upgrades

    Apparently according to the front page, the Compass Learning people (the ones who created the program) were doing updates to the program on Saturday. The front page also said they did not know how long it would take. My guess is they ran into problems. I cannot log in at all. Says server is down.

    Jana......... I had to laugh at your response, I get asked for a snow day everyday but I live in Wyoming where it is possible lol

    OK, mystery solved ... I just noticed the following on the login page:

    Site Maintenance Update -Monday, 2/11/08
    The developers of the program are still working to update the system. You may experience slow download times as they complete the update. Please check back here for further updates.


    This doesn't make my dd feel any better about the quiz she will have to retake because it timed out after she answered the final question, but I feel better knowing someone is aware of the problem and is working on it.

    We'e been using Time4Learning for a year and a half. The site has been taken down on Saturdays a few times for maintenance, which is to be expected, but this is the first time we've had this kind of issue. My guess is that it will be resolved soon.

    It does put a crimp in your school day. At least, with a computer-based program, my kids can't "lose" their books!

    To Nanaringo -- your daughter may still get credit for the quiz. This morning my son got a "technical problems" error after the last question of his 28 question test, but when I looked in his portfolio it showed his score -- 93%.
    I hope that's true for your daughter too.

    Default Slow in Mississippi

    I know everything is slower in Mississippi--LOL--but it's definitely slow here today. I thought something was wrong with my computer. I deleted my temporary internet files and was getting ready to run a defrag to try to speed up the computer.
