Default why spend $$ on tutors?

I'd like to begin by saying that Time4Learning has changed my sons outlook on life.
Some months ago I was browsing on the web for kicks. Reason being, is my seventh grade son was having struggles in reading. He was having such a difficult time it actually made him depressed to the point that it affected other subjects he used to be good in. I began paying for tutoring sessions ($40 an hour) and being a single parent it became too costly. As a parent, I felt horrible when I stopped the sessions. It was a choice between food on the table or a tutor. Well, when I saw Time4Learnings site I figured I would give it a try since it offered a 14 day trial period. All I have to say is WOW!!! I couldn't get my seventh grader off the computer. At first I thought he got off the site and was doing something else on the computer. I mean, what seventh grader is going to yell across the room "Let me finish this quiz" when I call him for dinner.
To make a long story short, three months later he went from failing to a "C" average. If I could tell everyone about this online educational program I would. It is affordable, easy to use and most of all keeps my sons interest.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart

That's great. My six year old just started and I have to make him get away from the computer (Time4Learning) and do other things.
Hi, and welcome to the forum!
We go through the same thing with our son who just turned 7 this month. Do you use the timer feature?
We have used it as a reward. We'll set the playground timer for extra minutes sometimes, and then we hear less begging to stay on longer.

It is great to see the upper grade children so enthused!

    Default timer

That's great! Nicki and Sydney sound like wonderful children. I loved your website by the way, so many useful links in one place

Jeremiah loves when we give him extra minutes on the T4L timer. He thinks it is cool that I have to have to put in my password to change it. I bump up his timer when he's done well too, Sometimes we give him 5 minutes extra because he is 'deciding' what to choose, by the time he gets into it, it's over. But we normally make it 2-3 min. or I split the time between the playground and other kid friendly sites. It doesn't have to be long for it to be great to kids. Not all the time though, just as a reward. He would prefer to be outside too, and that's the beauty of it because if the weather is really nice we can go out or do an outdoor lesson and log on later that day.

    We love the flexibility
