Default Field Trips: State Parks in Missouri

lets think about field trips. The ones I want to draw ou attention to first are state parks. Missouri has a wealth of state parks. We sure could use your input on your favorite park, favorite event within a park, even your least favorite park. Tell us about your experience.

As a side note, every state and it's state park system can benefit from home grown tourism. So get to visiting some of your state parks and then share your information!!!

Archeology Day at Mastadon State Park is happening in September. I know it is a little ahead of time, but it is good to know what is available. The event takes place all day, and there will be a free admission to the historic sites museum. Saturday there will be skills exhibitions including flint knapping and spear throwing, There will be activities for the kids, and adults alike.
Take advantage of this opportunity if you can. Remember, as homeschoolers, we can go with the flow. Who said field trips can only happen Monday through Friday?

If you do go, would you mind dropping a few lines here about your experience? We look forward to anyone going there and telling us about the museum and site.

    Thanks,
    Linda

Battle of Pilot Knob Re-enactment also takes place from Sept . The event is expected to draw 30.000 people. It is a reenactment of a Civil War battle and will have booths, arts, and crafts. It take place at Fort Davidson State Historic Site.

Check out the State Parks Calendar for upcoming events. If archeology days and battle reenactments are not what floats your boat, there are quite a number of other activiies that might catch your attention. Of course, we would love to have you report back here about anything you attend!
