    Default What Subjects

For our question of the week I would like to know what is the subject that you hate to teach the most or feel the most uncomfortable about? What is the subject that you like/love to teach?

Let's get some discussion going on this topic folks.

For me that uncomfortable subject is science. I just don't feel like I understand it enough to teach. My husband is from a scientific background. When he is sitting around talking to his friends I often wonder what foreign language they are speaking. It really intimidates me. I don't really have a favorite subject to teach. As long as it is not science, I'm okay.

I don't really have a favorite, but my least favorite subject is social studies. I just find it a little boring and so does my daughter. What makes it even harder is that the questions on the tests and quizes ask such minor details. My daughter would complain about it so much that I started sitting thru the lessons with her, and I must say, I know why she was complaining about it. I starting taking notes for her during the lessons to see if it made it better, but like I said, some of the questions ask for such minor things that even I didn't think it was worth jotting down in my notes - and ofcourse they ask it on the test! It's like you have to remember every minor detail. So, I just find it a little frustrating.

I remember social studies being like that when I was in school. Memorize it for the test and then forget it. I don't think there is anything in social studies that is so important that you can't look it up in a book or online if you need to know it.
