    Default New to T4L

New to T4L but been homeschooling for about 4 years now. Our oldest is 8 yo and our youngest is 5 yo with ASD. Hoping the curriculum online helps as both girls love watching educational programs & videos. And really hoping mom can figure out how to setup the curriculum LOL.

We usually school year round with our days fluctuating due to work, Drs, therapies etc.
How many hours a day does most families do for a 3rd grader & a pre-k? Thanks & looking forward to getting to know other families.

Hi! Welcome to the forum! Thanks for introducing your family. We hope you'll stick around and post more of your experiences.

Your kindergartner will probably not spend more than an hour a day on her lessons. The rest of her education should be made up of experiences (sandbox, blocks, playing house, swinging, sliding, helping you cook, etc.).

A third grader might spend two or three hours. Most parents add arts and crafts, music lessons, organized sports, Scouts, 4H, volunteer work, field trips, etc. to the mix.

Here's a great article called How Long is a Homeschool Day.

    Again . . . welcome!

Mom of six . . . current students and homeschool graduates. Enjoying using Time4Learning since 2006!
