Bring your favorite books to share and trade as we munch on snacks fromthe Roald Dahl cookbook and watch various films based on his brilliantquirky works. Come dressed as your favorite character from any one ofhis books,.... Matilda, The Twits, The Witches, The BFG, Fantastic Mr.Fox, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. TheROC (Resource and Opportunity Center) for Homeschoolers is open tohomeschooling? families in the New York City area,?and serves as agathering/meeting place and informal resource center.? Through theoffering of programs of classes, workshops, free playtime?andactivit ies, families can enjoy socializing, and sharing/swapping -information, opinions,?materials and/or meals, etc - while learning andplaying together with other homeschooling families.? Various classes,and activities are scheduled throughout the year at?our home base?inthe East Village, as well as?in?various other?locations including TheDana Discovery Center in Central Park, The Church of St. Paul?& St.Andrew?on the Upper West Side and the New York Riding Academy onRandall's Island, among others.

The ROC has found a new downtown home! The first space that is
completely ours, belonging to homeschoolers -- 24 hours a day/7days a
week -- with a full kitchen and lots of storage!? Located in the East Village,
convenient to parks, libraries, NYU, Cooper Union, and public transportation? -
- the 6 to Astor Place, the L subway or M8 bus to 1st Avenue.
