Post New to the State and This Program

Hi, my family is new to North Carolina (but not homeschooling). I want to possibly link up with other families for outings for my daughter so she keeps her social skills together. I also work from home as I run a small but successful business from home so I don't get to get out much when the school year starts but am willing to change my schedule around to get to know others and the "Queen City".

Hi Nubia! If you mean you are in Charlotte, I can help!! I am going to cut and paste from my List of Groups in the greater Charlotte area to get you started. I can always give you more if needed. Charlotte is a WONDERFUL area to homeschool in though not always the easiest to find everything.

    Explore and Discover
    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ExploreAndDiscover/
    Inclusive, greater Charlotte area.
Our families are seeking to explore and discover culture and community, through self-directed activities with friends. These are not structured outings, except where noted. The activities include area parks, state parks, bike days, hiking, museum outings, picnicking, and perhaps some weekend family events. Outing details will be posted each month on the calendar, with reminders to the group. There is no age restriction for participation, all family members are welcome. We are focused on fun and connecting with others.
