Default How did this pandemic time help you encourage your kids in their homeschooling?

    Hi dearest parents and everyone,

It is very challenging for us parents to homeschool our kids especially if we are also working plus the effects of this pandemic to each individual and household. What are you doing to encourage your young ones to focus in their homeschooling, to follow their schedule despite of our pandemic concerns? Our kids too, are feeling stressed out sometimes.

I would be glad for your sharing! thanks!

    Hello whitewisdom,

I feel you when it comes to our kids' learning with the current setup of distant learning, modular learning, homeschooling and etc due to this coronavirus. I am a bit stressed out too especially that I also work at the same time, plus the daily house chores .

It is not only us parents who are stressed but also our kids. They seem to have no energy to attend to their studies even they're at home, and sometimes they are bored. On some occasion, I get furious because I don't see any initiative from my son. A few times, I just give in and let him play. I tried researching somehow on how to motivate my son to enjoy his homeschooling. Then I found this article by accident (Keeping Kids Learning Despite The Quarantine – Chicago Junior School). I was able to really relate to the content and then do some tweaks in our homeschooling setp up. My son had one to two improvements at first and I'm glad to see these changes.

I realized that overwhelming ourselves wont make us perfect parents, we just need to breathe to be able to think freely on how to help our kids. I hope this would help you in a way @whitewisdom.

    Hey kabobpeak,

Yes you are right. We, parents are stressed out especially for first timers like us. But we missed to see that our kids are stressed out too. Just read the article that you have shared. And I already applied a few like I looked and hired a Math Tutor because I couldnt explain higher math calculations, then I allowed my son an hour video chat with his friends.

I hope there would be an improvement.

Kindly share more insights. Thank you.

    Btw, how's your homeschooling going?
