I voted for two of the options, since the answer is different for each of my boys. My eldest (now 9th grade) went to a private PreK and a public school for Kindy. He started 1st grade still in public school, but we pulled him out two months into the school year. My wee one (now 4th grade) has never been in a private or public school.

I didn't know you could pick more than one response. My daughter has attended private school, public school, and homeschool co-op groups. She has been homeschooling the longest--7+ years.

Homeschooled right from the start due to food allergies. Gave him the option this year of trying public school (old enough to know not to accept food others might offer), and he declined. So now we homeschool because we want to!

Jack was in private school from preschool through 2nd grade- although I homeschooled my middle child for part of that time. I homeschooled him for 3rd grade, but for a variety of reasons, that didn't work out very well at that time. I put him into public school for 4th grade, but he was moved into 3rd grade after a month because he simply wasn't ready. He did beautifully in public school for the rest of 3rd and 4th grade, but started to decline in 5th grade when he was in the middle school (and also when Common Core was implemented by our district.) Last year was absolutely horrible.

So I now have him home for 7th grade, and will likely do the same for 8th grade next year. When he's ready for high school, we'll evaluate all the options (both public, private, and homeschooling) and decide at that time.
