    Default computer-oriented learning

What programs or games have you found to be the best when it comes to learning the alphabet and counting?

Personally, I prefer the direct personal touch, myself, but computerized learning does have some good points.

Time4Learning is a computer based curriculum, but I agree that preschoolers need a lot of hands-on experience. Counting is fun. My kids and I always counted anything countable . . . doggies in a picture book, fence posts while on a walk, steps from their room to the kitchen, etc. I think lots of practice is the best way to teach counting.

We did much the same with the alphabet. Let's find all the B's on this page . . . What letters do you recognize in that road sign? . . . Let's find all the letters we know on this cereal box . . . LOL!

Mom of six . . . current students and homeschool graduates. Enjoying using Time4Learning since 2006!
