We want to start home schooling our grandson, 12 years old, 6th grade, he as ADHD, aspergers and some other social issues. Currently attending public school but has issues with him wanting to be there every day. He does not like his special needs teacher and that puts him in the defensive mode from the start.

We have spoken to the home schooling coordinator for our school district who says it is not an automatic thing for us to be allowed to home school since our grandson has attendance issues.

Can the school district refuse our request to home school our grandson on those grounds? He does have an IEP for his special needs.

Please provide me some feedback so I can be ready for our meeting.

Thanks
