Default How long do the lessons tale to complete?

Hello. I am in a state that requires 1000 hrs a school year, 625 hrs of core. Can I accomplish 4 hrs of core a day, 5 days a week without too much extra subsidizing?

Hi! It depends on the grade level, how quickly the student works, and whether you decide to use all the worksheets or not. The student reports detail the amount of time spent logged in to each lesson, and that usually will not add up to four hours per day except perhaps in high school.

PreK and K will not (and should not) be online more than an hour per day.
1-2 might take an hour or two, depending on how you choose to schedule. Each lesson activity itself has a running time of less than 15 minutes, although there are some open ended activities like online coloring and "writing a story" that depends on how long the student wants to work.
3-8 could take three to four hours, still depending on how quickly your student does writing assignments. All but the middle school science lessons have a running time of less than 15 minutes, although the student may do more than one lesson per day. The middle school science lessons have a running time of about half an hour.

When counting hours, homeschool parents may legitimately count music lessons, organized sports, arts and crafts, 4H, Scouts, paid or volunteer work, educational DVDs, etc.

Mom of six . . . current students and homeschool graduates. Enjoying using Time4Learning since 2006!
