    Default State simulation assessments

This icon and the vocabulary skills just recently popped up in front of lessons we have already completed in L.A. I am guessing it is simply curriculum that was just added. What is the state simulation assessment? Is it a general state assessment similar to what a public school might administer?
    Thanks
    Joie

    Default State Simulation Assessments

The state simulation assessment activities were added to the Time4Learning program around Sept 06. These activities are not to be mistaken as Tests. They are simply activities that help prepare students with their high-stakes tests.

Students are prone to common errors during test taking. The simulation activities help limit their critical mistakes and help recognize the traps waiting for them on standardized tests. Students should gain understanding of their critical mistakes so they could gain a better understanding of why an answer is correct as appose to why an answer is wrong.
