Default Wants to homeschool but lost on how & where to start

    Hello.

My son is in 3rd grade and I would love to pull him out of the public school.
I work 8to5 but I know I can squeeze homeschooling since we hardly do overtime at work.
We are in Orange County, CA and I dont know how to start!
What is the first thing that I need to do?
Is establishing a private school in CA easy, manageable or difficult?

Any CA homeschoolers in this forum please let me know if you have your own private school, under PSP or Charter?
By the way what is an independent study program? Isnt that part of a charter school?

Please please help! I really need and love to homeschool my 8 yo son.

    Hello,

There is a CA forum you may want to post this in too. My oldest child is in the independent study program in CA. To me it does sound like a charter school. She does work online and text books and they meet in a classroom two times a week to see there teacher for questions get assignments and turn them in and do testing and more independent study.

Definitely post in the CA state forum for more help.

Lots of families work and homeschool, so it CAN be done.
    Joyfully,
