    Default 8th grade retention

Hi, my son just completed 8th grade in the public school. We feel it would be best for him to repeat 8th grade, however the school has said they don't have any compelling reason to do so. I was wondering if home schooling him would be an option. Could we home school him this upcoming year as an eighth grader and re-enroll him into public school the following year as a 9th grader?

    Thanks for any help!

I'm pretty sure you can homeschool him at whatever level you feel appropriate. I'm not as sure about what happens when you re-enroll him. You probably need to ask the school district about that. Sorry - wish I could be of more help!
