    Default New Roll Call

The Roll Call thread on here is getting pretty old. I thought maybe it was time to up date it. Please help us get to know each other by adding your info to the thread.

First name, number of students and ages or grades, how long you have homeschooled, how long you have used time4learning, what kind of work do you do, your favorite food.

Hello! My name is Michelle. I homeschool my two sons, ages eight and thirteen, and they have always been homeschooled. I have only recently begun using time4learning, and we are just getting used to it. I work in a research lab where I determine the evolutionary history and phylogeography of certain plant species. My favorite food is grilled zucchini.

I'm Dawn. I just began homeschooling my 13 year old daughter with Aspergers 2 weeks ago. I am a teacher in the very system that failed her. Thankfully I love to teach! I am just starting with Time4Learning. My favorite food is a soy latte (is that a food?!).

Hi Dawn. Welcome to the homeschooling world. I know a lot of teachers who are homeschooling their own children. And yes, a soy latte is food. Coffee is one of the main food groups along with chocolate and chai tea.

Hello everyone! My name is Mary and I homeschool my 13 and 11 year old sons. I am a revenue cycle specialist at our local hospital. Both of my boys were in public school, however due to the excessive bullying, I've pulled them both out and this is the first year with T4L. I was homeshooled myself so I am somewhat familiar with the concept, however that was back in the 80's and there wasn't the support then that there is now, which I am LOVING! We are still learning how to use T4L and really utilize all the tools, so it's a little intimidating, but I know we'll get it!
Hmmmmm....favorite food? I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Starbucks Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate, does that count?

Thank you, Kathi! I do feel quite overwhelmed most of the time, trying to work and make sure my boys are being well educated, but I know in the long run it'll be so worth it. My husband works nights, so he helps them get started with their schooling in the mornings, while I'm at work. When I get home, I help them with anything else that they were having trouble with. This seems to work out pretty well, but I still doubt myself that I can do it! Sigh....nothing that a hot cup of Bucks won't cure, lol! OH! Just curious? Anyone get so tired of the sneers and rolling of the eyes when you tell people your children are homeschooled? Makes me furious. Ummmm is it just me?

It never ends. The best thing to do is roll your eyes back. It's either None of your business or what until they graduate from college.
