I see you've been using Time4Learning for a while. I am looking for a homeschool curriculum for my coming 3rd grader. He is very advanced, especially in reading, spelling, math and loves learning but super guys boy. Lol. He's in public school now but I am thinking about homeschooling him next fall. I've used Time4Learning for him as a summer enrichment and preschool extras. Do you use Time4Learning for complete curriculum? Do you supplement with other websites or material? I want to do this right and so I'm gathering information. You looked like a great one to ask. if you have any advice please let me know.

Hi, I have a second grader who I've been told is very smart, and brimming with personality. We switched schools during the second semester and this teacher says she has low self-esteem & refuses to try. She's switched schools before with no problems. I asked my daughter and she said the work was boring. For her, that's just cover for not understanding it. I tried breeching the subject with her teacher and was cut off and quickly told that class was not boring, my child needs medication to focus and she requires too much time. I'm frustrated. My child has always learned differently but she's smart and has consistently won awards for perseverance. My husband and I feel that homeschooling is right, but are completely at a loss on how to start. We live in North Carolina. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

Hi, my first graders activity planners has no more activities for him. When he logs on to work in math it says completed or mastered on all his math. What now.

Parents and students new to Time4Learning are sometimes frustrated when the program appears to expect their child to know everything about a certain concept without providing any instruction.

This is because Time4Learning doesn't just present a concept one time. It reviews previously learned material from time to time, to assure the student is retaining it (and to help you make sure your student has a chance to learn it in the first place if you are new to Time4Learning).

Time4Learning Preschool

by hearthstone_academy on 08-27-2014 at 08:04 PM

Preschool is more than presenting a lesson one time and checking it off as "Done". Preschoolers need a lot of repetition, immediate feedback, opportunities to self-correct, and plenty of hands-on experiences. That's why Time4Learning's preschool program provides:

  • non-graded parent reports that detail how many times a student has completed each activity.
  • unlimited access to explore each activity again and again.
  • immediate lesson feedback

Lesson Scheduling Made Easier!

The friendly, flashing arrow that guides Time4Learning students on their lesson path is a fun and useful part of the program. The arrow can't determine whether a worksheet has been completed, though. And, while it does an excellent job of showing what comes next, it doesn't tell how much to do.

Enter the new Time4Learning activity scheduler! When you log in to your parent account, you will notice a new icon at the bottom of the page. Click on the Activity

Grammar Goodies

by hearthstone_academy on 04-11-2011 at 09:46 AM
Time4Learning's core language arts program is one of the most popular parts of the curriculum. By interacting with hilarious animated characters, students study vocabulary, reading comprehension, and more.

But, where are the grammar lessons? When parents ask this, they are usually referring to a study of parts of speech and punctuation. Where, in the Time4Learning program, do students learn about nouns, verbs, adjectives, periods, commas, and quotation marks?
